General Assembly
The General Assembly is your chance to shape the future of the EMAlumni Association! Each year, all supportive members are invited to join our annual democratic forum to hear about the Board’s activities, review financial reports, and discuss the association’s goals and direction. Full (supportive) members have the power to vote on major changes affecting our operation and direction, and can vote and be elected to the Board.
Board members are the driving force behind the association’s management and operations. They actively participate in discussions, strategise how to achieve our goals, and lead initiatives like workshops, campaigns, career days, or fundraising efforts. It’s a two-year voluntary commitment.
General Assembly 2025
This year’s General Assembly will take place from 31 May to 15 June 2025.
Join us for an online informational webinar on 14 May to learn more about our past and future activities, meet our Board and committees, get a glimpse of the General Assembly agenda and decisions to be voted on, and ask all your questions during our Q&A session. Register for the webinar on Zoom.
Are you interested in becoming a Board Member or the President of the association? We have four positions available. All supportive members may submit their candidacy until 25 May 2025. How? Log in to your account (or register for an account if you don’t have one yet) and add a post in in our EMAgora discussion forum. We encourage early applications so that you can introduce yourself in our webinar on 14 May.
To participate and vote in the General Assembly, make sure you have paid your €20 annual membership fee by 28 May. All supportive members will receive an e-invitation from us when the General Assembly officially opens on 31 May. You’ll gain access to our online page with instructions, documents, and the form to submit your votes and elect new Board Members. You will have two weeks to submit, as the General Assembly will close on 15 June.
Results from the General Assembly 2024
Thank you to 23 supportive members who participated in the General Assembly 2024 from 1-16 June 2024. We are pleased to share that all reports were approved, as well as an amendment to the statute to secure early membership during the end-of-the-year fundraising campaign. Hélène Bauwens was duly elected President of the Association, and 8 new Board Members were elected for 2024-2026: Diego Naranjo, Carly Sikina, Kelly Christine Wong, Lea Frerichs, Merel Cosijn, Geanina Turcanu, Gonçalo Quitério, and Séphora Kermabon.
