CALL FOR APPLICATIONS - see documents attached for more information!

POSITION: human rights researcher

PROJECT: Economic, social and cultural rights as rights of the child – Empowering children in building a better future

HOME INSTITUTION: Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland (member of the Global Campus of Human Rights)

PROJECT TEAM: Dzidek Kedzia, Agata Hauser, Lukasz Szoszkiewicz

PROJECT BACKGROUND:

The overarching aim of this project is to draft the Compilation of Principles and Standards of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of the child.

The development of such a soft-law document on the ESC rights of the child could help in achieving a better implementation at the national level and more clear monitoring criteria for the UN Treaty Bodies in the field of ESC right of the child, therefore leading to better visibility of children as empowered actors. The Compilation could also prove helpful in human rights education programmes as well as the training of professionals, including teachers, judges and lawyers, social workers, officials in public administration, and journalists. The proposed Compilation of Principles and Standards regarding the ESC rights of the child will be accompanied by a Practical Guidebook on the implementation of these principles. This publication will build on the inputs received throughout the various consultations, particularly from students/alumni of the GCHR, the UN Treaty Bodies’ members, regional programmes, the Right Livelihood Foundation, and NGOs.

This project could not be more timely! Do not miss the chance to participate and apply NOW!
